Only stayed there two nights but, WOW. Really nice place. We were in the Woodland section between the main road and a corn field. We heard the train that runs next to the property, but it was not loud enough to be disturbing. Sites were all pull-throughs in this section, gravel covered, mostly level and plenty wide enough for my 19' HTT. All the facilities that we saw or used (bathrooms, showers, game room, pool) were clean and well-maintained. All the staff that we encountered were friendly and hepful. The only complaint that I have is small indeed. The camp store/grocery was a little cramped and this was at the expense of the gift shop (same room) that had plenty of room to peddle Hershey company merchandise. But really, this is just a minor inconvenience in a very nice facility. If you're heading out to Hershey this is the place to stay.

I'm not saying that the campground was expensive. Just that they could have afforded the camp store a little more room considering all the room that the gift shop had in the same space.

Hershey is one of our favorites. We head there the first weekend in December, do the park and the sweet lights. we used to stay in Woodland, but moved up the hill right next to the pplayground and love it!! Kids get right out onto playground, no car traffic to speak of up there that time of year and we have a nice fire etc.. While the train is there it doesn't bother us, or our sleeping habits, it's more of a backround noise once you hear it once.

Anyone wanna go in December??? They decorate the park, have some rides open, serve hot chocolate and smores and the Sweet Lights is an amazing display!!

You got to choose where you stayed in Dec?  When we went last year we were put in Woodland...and being new to pulling thought the turns were kinda tight.  When we tent there we always stay in Crestview...

Yep, we request the hill, no one there and we get a pretty big fire going!!! Plus easy to keep an eye on the kids!

Just to clear things up in my mind...looking at the map of the campground...when you say "up the hill"...are you referring to the Crestview area or Hilltop?

If you ever stayed in Crestview...and had to walk up the hill from the bath... you would easily understand my confusion.   ;)

We stayed at this campground several years ago and loved it. The shuttle over to Hershey park was a big plus too.

Hi All,

We love Highmeadows and the Woodlands.  If you like the Sweet Lights December then meet us on the weekend of Halloween (yeah, I forgot, we're booked there for the weekend closest to Halloween again this year) for their Halloween camping.  It's a blast, decorating the sites, candy scramble, costume contests, trick-or-treating and best of all a two hour early start at the park!

This will be our third year and we've not been disappointed yet!  If you're considering it, hurry as they fill up early for these weekends (the two at Halloween are designated for Halloween and Hershey Park in the Dark).  We book as we leave just to be sure we get the site we want.

They have cabins but I'm not sure if you're looking for the December timing or the summer. I can tell you that now that the season is in, you may have trouble getting in for the summer.

On a separate note, we just camped Lake Glory up near Elysburg, PA (Knoebels Amusement Park). If you ever get the urge, the sites are huge, campground is clean and open and definitely worth visiting. Lot 104 is large enough that we could have put two of our MHs on it and still been comfortable!
